HADITH OF THE WEEK
Abu Hurairaؓ narrated that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “All the actions of the son of Adam are for him, except for fasting. Indeed, it is for Me, and I give the reward for it.» Fasting is a shield (i.e., protection from the fire and from committing sins). So when one of you is fasting, then let him not say obscene speech or make too much noise; and if someone insults him or fights him, then let him say: ‘I am fasting.’ By the One in Whose hand the soul of Muhammad is! The unpleasant smell that emanates from the mouth of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the smell of the musk. There are two pleasures for the fasting person: one at the time of breaking his fast; and the other at the time when he will meet his Lord, then he will be pleased because of his fasting.”
Sahih Bukhari # 1904

SHAWAAL FASTING

According to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), fasting these six days, in addition to the obligatory fast of Ramadan, brings the reward of fasting for an entire year. These fasts can be observed at any time during the month of Shawwal, as long as they are completed within the month. The practice serves as a means of further spiritual purification, strengthening one’s devotion, and gaining closeness to Allah. It is a simple yet powerful way to continue the good habits developed during Ramadan and earn immense reward.

Volunteers from Al Tawheed Masjid will be organizing a local community street clean-up exercise to help improve the environment and foster a spirit of cooperation within the neighbourhood. On the scheduled day, volunteers will gather with cleaning supplies such as trash bags, gloves, and recycling bins to clear streets, parks, and public spaces of litter. This initiative aims not only to beautify the area but also to raise awareness about the importance of keeping the community clean and promoting environmental responsibility. By actively participating, the volunteers will demonstrate their commitment to making a positive impact on the local environment and strengthening community bonds.
SUPPORT AL-TAHWEED
Al Tawheed Masjid has been a vital spiritual and community hub for many years, offering a wide range of religious and educational services to the growing community. However, with the increasing number of worshippers and educational programs, the mosque is now facing the challenge of limited space. Due to the restrictions of the historic structure, expanding the current building to meet the rising demand is not feasible. As a result, the mosque is looking to develop an outbuilding in the garden area, which will provide much-needed space for prayer, classes, and community activities. This development will allow us to continue to serve the needs of our growing congregation and offer more opportunities for spiritual growth and learning.
To make this vision a reality, the mosque is seeking the generous support of the community. We humbly request that individuals and families consider donating towards the construction of the new building. Your contributions will not only help alleviate the space constraints but will also be a lasting investment in the spiritual and educational development of future generations. Every donation, no matter how large or small, will make a meaningful difference in enabling us to provide a safe and welcoming environment for worship, learning, and community engagement. May Allah bless you for your generosity and commitment to supporting the growth of Al Tawheed Masjid.
